A Trip From Mumbai To Varanasi To Attend Cousin Wedding
Varanasi attracts many tourists not just from within the country, but also from outside the country. Being the oldest city in India, it is known for its sacred temples and Ganga ghats. Also, these days, many of the points of attraction and food attract some people to visit Varanasi.
Last time when I visited the place, it was not for vacations, but to attend my cousin’s wedding. My accommodation was already arranged by the family, and so the only thing that I had to do was the journey from Mumbai to Varanasi. This was also arranged through online ticket booking options.
Travel from Mumbai to Varanasi
After researching much, I finally came across the train Lokmanyatilak Terminus-Varanasi Junction Superfast Express 12165. I booked my seat in the sleeper class on the train, and the train departed from Lokmanyatilak Terminus Railway Station at about 5:23 am morning.
The distance of about 1480 km was covered by the train in nearly about one whole day. It reached Varanasi by 7:05 am the next day morning.
After reaching the Varanasi station, I saw my relatives waiting for me and hence soon I was there at the hotel from where some of the other relatives were also staying for the wedding.
Hotel In Varanasi
My Stay at the Hotel
I was relaxed by the fact that the accommodation part was taken care by my relatives. As I checked in, I realized that I had my Hotel In Varanasi booked in a 3-star property of OYO Premium Sankat Mochan Temple hotel.
It was in a convenient location from the railway station and also from the center of the city. OYO Rooms are now widely known all over the country, and they know their maintenance standards quite well. Here also, the hotel offered various facilities such as free internet, AC rooms with great room service, restaurant service, help desk and many others to make the stay a comfortable one.
The banquet hall where the wedding was supposed to be taken place was also nearby, and hence it was easy to reach the place comfortably.
My Experience of Special Cuisine
Of course, if it is a wedding ceremony, food is the most important thing. My relatives had displayed a wide range of food items from different cuisines and hence enjoyed food was a great thing. Also, there were some of the local cuisine food items that I always wanted to taste. Though there are many of the items from the local cuisine of Varanasi, one thing that I loved the most was Aloo Rassa.
Aloo Rassa is mainly the potato curry that is quite famous in all the Varanasi. It is a traditional dish for breakfasts here as it is served with hot kachoris or puris on the street side. The Puri and Sabzi are at times accompanied with jalebis, and this makes a complete breakfast package. The medium spicy curry can be enjoyed even with rice or bread.
My cousin’s wedding was the cause that took me to Varanasi, and I enjoyed not just the wedding but also the temples, ghats and most importantly the food.
