This popular museum is dedicated to the father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi and is located at a prime area opposite to the Raj Ghat on the Ring Road in Delhi. You can visit this place from 10am to 5:30pm on all days of the week except for Mondays. This museum houses some of the personal belongings of Gandhiji. The museum offers a look back in the history of the freedom struggle of India as it portrays photographs, sculptures and paintings related to Gandhi and the history of the Ahinsa/ non – violence movement led by him.


National Rail Museum

This one of a kind museum located at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi is open from 9:30am to 5:30pm on all weekdays except for on Mondays. This unique museum houses more than 100 real size Indian Railway exhibits. The handsome Prince of Wales Saloon that dates back to 1875 is one of the major attractions of the National Rail Museum. Another exquisite exhibit here is the Fairy Queen that was built in 1855. It is believed to be one of the best preserved steam locomotive engines belonging to its era. There is also a life sized fire engine on the way out.
